Summer Reads - My Book Cupboard!

There's a giveaway going on! Click HERE to enter. ^_^

You may have guessed by now that I have a bit of a book hoarding problem; I buy books whenever I can and very rarely part with any of them. This means that I've built up quite a collection over time (about 250 books...). One of my favourite things to do is to sort out and re-organise my book collection; pulling them all out of my cupboard, sorting through them, reading a bit then putting them back in a different order. Last time I showed you guys my book cupboard it was arranged in colour order like a rainbow, but last week I decided to re-organise them into a better system, as the rainbow was really hard to expand. I'm pretty happy with how my books are looking right now so I thought a nice addition to Summer Reads would be a book cupboard tour. ^_^

I keep the bulk of my books in my cupboard but my favourites stay out on display on a separate book case. The photo with the rabbit night-light is that shelf, so you can see my favourite books there. ^_^ You might notice that there's a severe lack of John Green. That's because my hardback copy of TFIOS is displayed on a separate shelf with sentimental things, my paperback TFIOS is on my bedside table and my sister owns Looking For Alaska, Paper Towns and An Abundance of Katherines. I hope to buy these books myself one day so I can have my own copies but I'm sharing with my sister right now. :) You might also notice that Why We Broke Up by Daniel Handler is now part of my book collection when it was on my wishlist just s few days ago. That's because I bought it (funnily enough). Can't wait to read it! :D

There's a rough system organising my books: the very top row is stand-alone YA novels, underneath is chick-lit (mainly series'), under that is popular YA fiction and favourites, then on the bottom shelf I have all the others. :P

Lots of love, Cat

  1. Ooh, Why We Broke Up! I'm fairly certain this the THIRD (or maybe even fourth!) time I've commented about it, but I CAN'T HELP IT! :D

Your cupboard looks great, Cat! I myself am an alphabetising gal - I like the idea of rainbow order but in truth I don't think it'd work; how can you put the electric blue of TFIOS next to the muted teal of Room and still call it a tonal rainbow? What amazes me about yours is that the bottom row there are ALL EXACTLY THE SAME HEIGHT - but I guess that was your intention! :L

    1. Haha I really really want to read it now! It's next on my to-read list. :D

I struggled to maintain the rainbow and it was almost impossible to expand. :/ It was pretty though, hehe! xx
