Currently I'm...#14

Reading:
Last weekend, I read We Were Liars by E. Lockhart and wow...just, wow. I had high expectations for We Were Liars because it's been hyped up beyond belief and is being talked about constantly on YouTube and in the blogosphere, so I was quite nervous about reading it. In all honesty, I wasn't really expecting to like it. Luckily, I was very wrong and I ended up absolutely loving it. It's beautifully written, so original and pretty shocking, and I would highly recommend it. Now, I'm reading Waiting For Godot by Samuel Beckett and Submarine by Joe Dunthorne (I've been reading it since the start of August but I keep putting it down to read other books).

Listening To:
Ooh this is exciting. In 2010, I had a moment of madness and gave my beloved Fall Out Boy CDs away, thinking that I was too cool for FOB now that I was in secondary school. I'm not kidding when I say that I've regretted it every day since. This means that, for the past 4 years, I've only had Save Rock & Roll and whilst I freaking love it, I need their older stuff in my life too. Weeellll...this finally changed on Saturday when Infinity On High and Folie รก Deux arrived in the post. I actually shed a tear when I opened the parcel. I just haven't had the money to re-purchase all the old FOB CDs until now and I'm still waiting for From Under The Cork Tree to arrive (Take This To Your Grave was too expensive so that'll be bought later (and An Evening Out With Your Girlfriend is pretty much impossible to get)). I'm so happy to have them back in my life. ♥

Watching:
You're probably getting sick of me listing the same TV shows in every Currently I'm... post so I'll just talk about YouTube today. Basically, I've been looking into university quite a lot recently and dealing with UCAS and all that stuff, so I've been (re)watching a few videos about university. My favourites are KickThePJs University Q&A, and MeowItsLucy's videos about starting uni, eating at uni and uni advice with Hannah Witton.
Enjoying:
I've actually done some pretty awesome stuff so far this month; I went to the Glasgow Uni open day (post here), tried bubble tea, got on the subway for the first time, went to a party for my friend's 17th (and cut my leg somehow (no idea how) which then bled through the night but I didn't realise until I woke up the next day and it still hurts a week later) and went to Costa with the girls after school one day to have a huge chai latte. It's been nice. :3

Loving:
Fall Out Boy's new song. Centuries, Their new song is Centuries. It's so good. Centuries. Oh wow just listen to it.

Lots of love, Cat

  2. Centuries is such a good song! For years I tried to make myself like Fall Out Boy, and never did. Then last week after listening to Centuries I just seem to have fallen in love with them and can't stop listening.
Submarine is meant to be brilliant. I've seen the film and loved it but am yet to read the book.
Glad you've had a good month so far :) xx

  3. I loved Fall Out Boy's new album, I love every song of it! I haven't heard of Centuries, so I definitely need to check that out. Aw man, I'm so jealous of you - I'd love to visit Scotland sometime. It's very very high on my to-see list. Also, how awesome is bubble tea? I've got a bubble tea place right across my student dorm. I think it's safe to say that I visit often.

    1. Save Rock & Roll is an amazing album but I actually think their older stuff is better - have you heard any of their older stuff? :D
Awh you're so lucky! I literally have a 40 minute train journey and a subway-ride to get bubble tea. :'D xx

    2. Oh yeah totally! I used to be a major FOB fan back when I was a teen (that makes me sound super old, I'm actually 22). I really like this album. I'd say the 40-minute train journey is worth it though! ;) From home, it's about the same. But my student dorm is RIGHT next to it. So good.

Isn't Centuries just amazing? I don't listen to much Fall Out Boy but now I'm definitely rethinking that!
